To Our Clients and Friends,

We hope you and your family and friends are doing well and staying safe.

I want you to know that my firm is still fully operational, although we are working remotely from our homes to do our part and help ensure the health and safety of our team. We are committed to providing you with the same high-level of service and will continue to address your tax and accounting needs as quickly as possible.

As you are aware, there have been some swift tax law changes in the past couple of weeks. I am sharing some information that I found relevant and useful to help navigate these changes. I’ve highlighted some of the topics below:

  1. 2 different SBA loans available

    1. SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan – includes favorable loan terms with a potential $10,000 loan advance that might not require repayment

    1. Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) – entire loan might be forgiven - applications available on April 3, 2020

  1. Recovery rebates for individual taxpayers ($1,200 for single, $2,400 for married and $500 for each child), subject to income limitations

  2. Deferment of payroll taxes – to be spread over 2 years

  3. Waiver of Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) for 2020

  4. Waiver of 10% early distribution penalty

  5. Extended tax filing due dates for individuals, sole proprietors, C-Corporations, trusts and the 1st quarterly tax payment for 2020, if applicable, has been moved from April 15, 2020 to July 15, 2020

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Stay healthy and take care.

Thank you,

Brian L. Baker, CPA
